Construction Virtual Prototyping (VP) Try Before Build
There are many spatial problems in pipe alignment in design stage of building projects. In fact 2D combined service drawing is unable to completely fix the problems and cannot clearly present an actual circumstance of construction environment. Construction Virtual Prototyping (VP) is one of the Building Life Management (BLM) solution for the construction industry integrating with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and which is the creation and use of coordinated, consistent, computable information for the documentation of a building design, production of high-quality drawings, cost-estimates, construction planning and, eventually, for managing and operating the facility. It is an emerging information technology embracing the entire building industry and project life cycle. VP can also take into account all of variables in the project procurement process from feasibility analysis to maintenance management. The primary objective is to evaluate the feasibility of construction processes with a view to minimize the time and resource use.

This presentation will summarize the statutory requirements from different Government Departments (EMSD, FEHD, HAD, FSD, BD, Labour department, EPD, WSD, DSD etc) applicable to buildings, with particular emphasis on the General Restaurant Licence and Hotel Licence. The licence conditions will be explained and practical suggestions on how to ensure compliance will be discussed. The seminar will be conducted in Cantonese with English terminology.

This seminar will discuss the world's water crisis and its impact on all of us as well as offer options available to address the problem. We will focus on water conservation through the use of efficient irrigation, including watering times, the use of computerized central control systems, sensors and weather-based irrigation adjustment technologies.
